A Fun Feature From My Forest Frolics!
When conducting field research in a fairly remote part of the world, my output of finished artwork hovers around zero. Here is a series I did in Borneo: "Until I return to the land of scanners, acrylics, and high-quality (non-splattered) paper & canvas, I thought I would throw up my ever-growing collection of sketches from the field! I never know what I may come across from one day to the next, but it is sure to be a hurried affair, documented via pen/pencil in a sketchbook filled with jungle rot." Enjoy!
Some wild & Fanciful portraits
Rarely can I sit down inside long enough to hammer out a full-fledged finished piece of art, and yet I still need to satiate the thirst I have to put a pen to paper and draw the (mostly animal) things I see! Whether research or inspiration-driven, these sketches were fun to make, and hopefully fun to look at.
